A WORD ABOUT EQUATOR COFFEE
My initial introduction and experiences to Equator Coffee and Teas are well described within the Equator – Tam.Jct storyline. During the early months of 2017 my life had changed around quite abruptly with family matters in the UK. My initial plans, to complete a small series of paintings before approaching the company founders, Ms. Helen Russell and Ms. Brooke McDonnell, had to change accordingly. They are the proud recipients of the 2016 National Small Business Of The Year Award and rightly so.
This fate was fully sealed when I fractured my right hand (naturally my writing and painting one!) at the beginning of May in California, upon the very day I was heading back home. By the beginning of July my hand cast was removed in London and I began Physio Therapy thereafter. With my hand in a partially healed state I started to paint the location of their first outlet located in Tamalpais Junction, Mill Valley, California.
It was a rather slow process for me at that time as I was still having some numbness around the fingers while I painted but my plan and goal was to complete it, get it scanned in London before arriving back in California. Should all things go well with the painting and a possible meeting with the founders then I would continue with three other locations that the company currently operates.
It is an exciting project for me to undertake as I have a great love for all their wonderful coffees and friendly staff. It would be a fitting conclusion to my full time tenure in California after almost forty years.
I am not going to mention about my plans and details for each painting as my head has been filled with so many ideas in the last year but I will try to ensure that they won’t disappoint when they are published. All I can say is that every Equator painting that I complete will be different and unique to each location. The paintings will tell a story within each location. I hope that the results will be pleasing to everyone. Equator Coffee And Teas deserve the same high quality of uniqueness in my paintings as their coffees do to delight their current coffee fans and future customers. As a regular customer of this very company for almost three years now, the reassuring fact should now be stated that a great deal of Equator Coffee has been consumed by this artist in every completed painting!
Until this moment in time, you may never have heard of Equator Coffee before. All this leads to my highly recommended suggestion that if you haven’t tried their fine coffees as yet, please visit them through their website at www.equatorcoffees.com – It’s definitely worth the time and effort to try them. I feel sure that you won’t be disappointed!
Lastly, you can follow my progress and current status on each Equator painting by checking in periodically on the Equator pages. Thank you.
